North Bay Village
North Bay Village Real Estate
North Bay Village is 60% water. Yes, you read that right. The John F. Kennedy Causeway, which connects the mainland to the island of Miami Beach at 79th Street, is the central corridor of the less than one square mile that is North Bay Village. This tiny community nonetheless bustles with activity, great restaurants and the home of the Miami Fox station, WSVN-Channel 7.
Before 1940, the islands that make up North Bay Village waterfront homes didn’t exist. Like some of the other islands of South Florida, they were created by dredging to open up the shipping channels that helped Miami grow. By the 1960s, glamorous celebs like Frank Sinatra and Judy Garland were regular visitors! Although in the early years, North Bay Village Waterfront Real Estate was all single-family homes, today there are an array of homes in the city, including about 400 single-family homes, condos and apartment buildings in a range of price points. Because of its size, North Bay Village only has one public school, Treasure Island Elementary, but older students are served by close schools on Miami Beach. Miami Country Day School and the Lehrman Community Day School are both minutes away.
